ALL ABOUT US
History, Legacy, You, Future
At the feet of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range lies the beautiful little village Alaró. The documented history begins in the 13th century during the Christian reconquest of Mallorca. At this time Alaró used to carry the Islamic name Oloron. 1,5 Km outside, on the road to St. Maria lies Bodega Oloron. Embedded between terraces of grapevines and mountains rest the old walls of the wine cellar. Constructed over 20 years ago by the architect Llorenç Colom
The new owners and their family are committed to restoring the bodega to it's old glory, remaining faithful to traditional techniques whilst raising the functionality to that of a contemporary vineyard. The, for Mallorca, unusual bright shades of the earth comes from the calcareous nature of the claylike soil, benefiting the cultivation of Chardonnay grapes. Currently Chardonnay and Malvasia can be harvested on the 10 ha of land. The visions of the future promising Merlot and Cabernet are situated on the top terraces of the hills. The elaborate gathering by hand ensures a selective picking of only the best grapes and secures the unique quality of our wine, creating a delectable experience.
